Reviews

Sturdy heavy duty carbon steel wok.

Nice quality wok. Weighs 5lbs but still tossable for the average male.
Handle angle is not ideal but still workable. Handles are welded on and not drilled on which is a plus since rust and dirt usually builds near drill holes.
Love the flattened round bottom as well, no need to use a wok ring on my gas range.

Washed with detergent first then seared till blue. Used a torch as well for handle and edge areas. Unscrewed the handle off to prevent burning. Seasoned it over 5 times with canola oil until completely black.
Recommend to seared it outdoors if possible since smoke does stink the house up a bit afterwards

Great wok if seasoned and maintained well

Beautiful wok as it comes. Be sure to check the user manual for seasoning and maintenance guide. After seasoning, the wok wouldn’t look the same.
It’s definitely not as easy as using a non-stick pot, but the unique brown flavor a wok brings is just so good that makes me feel it’s worth it. The fried rice literally brought me back home.
One question tho- why make it looks like it’s Japanese when the wok is so good and actually made in China? Wok and stir frying originated in China. Let’s be proud of it.

EDIT after 16 months of usage:
1. It's a great and sturdy wok. 2. The seasoning layer is VERY delicate. It can be corroded by acid or even hot water and can be scratched with a metal spatula. So cooking with vinegar or tomatoes or even stewing should be generally avoided. If you decide to do these, make it quick and clean it asap. Using a wooden spatula is also better for protection. 3. The wok requires being dried and maintained with oil after every use.

Yes, it's a lot of work. So think twice, if you don't want to bother. Otherwise, you'll complain about the wok being in a bad condition.

Love this wok!
